Print article The Anchorage area was blanketed with up to 17 inches of snow from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. “This was the biggest snowstorm of the season for Anchorage,” meteorologist Pam Szatanek said Thursday morning. The storm dropped the most snow in Eagle River and East and South Anchorage. Seventeen inches was reported in Eagle River. Muldoon got up to 16 inches, Szatanek said. In South Anchorage, 13 inches was reported near Rabbit Creek, and a foot accumulated at the Ocean View Bluff Park.
